Introduction

Blessed be the kingdom of the LORD of God of Israel now and for ever unto ages of ages!

The Messianic Jewish Zionism of the modern age began with the Subbotniks of the First Aliyah. Subbotnik Judaism (Sabbath Judaism) is the precursor to Messianic Judaism but unlike Messianic Jews, Subbotnik Jews (Sabbath Jews) are entitled to citizenship as Jews in our Jewish State of Israel because our religion is still considered Jewish. See this comparison between Subbotnik Judaism and Jewish Christianity.

How much do you know about us?

Subbotnik Judaism is a Russian Sect of Spiritual Christian Judaism based in the State of Israel promoting the Messianic form of the Old Judean faith described in the Slavonic Bible as taught by Shomeir Shabbat Jews following Judah ben Tabbai's Palestinian Yerushalmi Minhag. Sabbath Jews are very observant on Sabbaths and other Holy Days but not always during common weekdays. One does not have to be a Hebrew in order to join the Subbotnik Jewish religion. Subbotniks often use Hebrew Alphabet to write in our own diverse variety of native languages. Hence, Subbotniks are not known as "еврей" (Hebrews) but as "староиудеями" (Old Jews) and "бесшапочными" (Nocapers) having much in common with the Orthodox Old Believers and the Jerusalem Talmud's Palestinian Minhag of the Romaniot Jews rather than with any Babylonian-based forms of Talmudic Judaism. For that reason, Orthodox Judaism classifies us as "Karaimish" although Karaimite Jews joined the Nazis to exterminate us during WW2.

Adherents of Subbotnik Judaism (Christian Jews) may be either Subbotnik Jews (Christian Ezrakhim) or uncircumcised Subbotnik Noahites (Christian Gerim). Subbotnik Jews can be counted for an orthodox Jewish Minyan and Subbotnik Noahites are are legally categorised as Christian Yehudim rather than Notzrim by the modern State of Israel because unlike Christian Gentiles, Subbotnik Jews openly promote Kabbalic Mysticism to eradicate pagan polytheism and godlessness like most other Jews do rather than reject the Kabbalah like Sabbatarian Notzrim do.

Subbotnik marriages consist of legal secular Nuptial agreements through an advocate to avoid red tape from the State Rabbinates. We normally pray at home as we do not have any synagogues or churches of our own in the modern State of Israel but have gained permission to meet occasionally in the Synagogue Church of Nazareth by appointment.
